2020 Artists

A.GIRL

A.GIRL is one of the first artists born this century to make a confident mark where r&b meets hip hop and soul. At only 19 years old she introduced us to her effortless vocal flow and soulful sing-rap style. 5-star tastemaker reviews for her first few singles and impressive live performances point to a promising future for this Western Sydney singer/songwriter.

A.GIRL’s debut single ‘2142’ told us about real life in her postcode and garnered worldwide blog support. Her second single ‘Play’ and third single ‘All Over You’ appealed to our sensual side and struck a chord with playlisters and radio programmers, attracting broad triple j support including full rotation airplay, winner of Triple J Unearthed’s Listen Out festival slot, artist of-the-week, featured in Ticketmaster’s ones-to-watch in 2020, and was crowned Next Big Thing at FBi Radio's SMAC Awards.

T BREEZY

Australian Aboriginal rapper T Breezy hails from Inverell, NSW 2360, and now resides in Macquarie Fields, Western Sydney. His unique sound full of both aggression and hope is more reminiscent of US trap artists Lil TJay, Tee Grizzley and Young MA than the current Oz Drill focus.

T Breezy’s debut single 'Posted' achieves a balance that hasn’t yet been struck in Australia: blending powerful autotuned lyricism with a truly Australian accent to create something distinctively icey and hard hitting.

Production is by Utility, with a history of producing music for several Australian artists (Eco$ystem, Kae the Goat, MA Rated) and rappers in the US (El Plaga, DZheep). ‘Posted’ leads into a full scale EP of their collaborations to be released before the end of the year on Utility’s new ‘Trackwork’ label. At 17 T Breezy is already set to be a pioneer and ‘Posted’ confirms the start of his come up.

SLIM SET

Slim Set is a producer-rapper duo coming out of Western Sydney. Made up of Uncle Kal and DJ Atro, the duo draw from rap, UK bass music and experimental electronica. Not content with regurgitating sounds that have been done before, Slim Set’s hybrid sound is an anomaly within the Australian hip hop landscape. Packed with cheeky humour and rowdy millennial energy, their tracks have earned them a loyal cult following.

In 2018, Slim Set had the #1 and #2 most played songs on FBi Radio with their explosive singles ‘Cooked’ and ‘Lazy’. Those singles saw them nominated for 3 SMAC awards, sell out their launch shows in Sydney and Melbourne and support international acts including The Streets, Flohio, AJ Tracey and Sir Spyro. They’ve also appeared as guests on Triple J Mixup and taken up the Wednesday Sunset slot on FBi Radio where they push the hottest talent out of West and South West Sydney every week.
